THE UNITED REALMS OF HANAMI:
Welcome to Hanami! Hanami is the empire founded by Queen Kagiso, 77 years ago. It is made up of 6 realms, each governed by one of the Great Houses. From the hundreds of cultures, populations, cities and settlements that were once scattered across the land, Hanami has successfully started to form its own identity and culture. Most have been quick to identify as citizens of Hanami through the empire's policies encouraging travel across the realms and complete lack of tolerance towards racism, now with only the more secluded cities left to adopt and accept this new way of life.
Hanami is very well connected, making travel to any realm relatively easy and painless. Even the treetop cities of Chanda and the merfolk cities in coves, reefs and springs becoming more accessible to all. This has made trade much easier between the realms and encouraged tradesmen to expand their businesses.
'Mirian' is the official language of Hanami. Although many of the realms still have distinct dialects and many keep their own traditional naming cultures, the imperial family established many institutions offering education in Mirian and encouraged all to learn the common tongue. There are almost none within Hanami who cannot understand or speak the language and only a small percentage more who cannot write. Hanami also shares a single currency and a religion.

the royal quarter. Aevon is the heart of Hanami, embracing the values and diversity after the unification more than any other realm. It is the capital of the empire and home to the emperor and his family. It has always been a very productive region due to the vast quantities of fertile fields but has enjoyed much more wealth since becoming the empire's capital.Aevon sees itself as a very progressive realm, enjoying the mix of cultures, products and people. It puts a lot of importance on understanding and appreciating foreign cultures, being the most important destination for anyone who wishes to pursue politics. It has also had a huge investment in the fine arts, encouraging many budding artists to move in.❀ ❀ ❀
The city's capital, Haru, is home to the royal palace and one of the most important trade centres in the empire. It is a beautiful city, located on a lone hill in the middle of the plains. It is separated into three concentric sectors consisting of i) the bronze sector, where most of the residential areas can be found. ii) the silver sector, where the trade centres and markets and shopping streets can be found. The barracks for the royal guard can also be found here. iii) the gold sector, lying above the rest of the city, is the home of the palace and the Hanami Temple. ❀ ❀ ❀
Silverhill (1) has become a very well-known neighbourhood and is the most expensive city in the empire. It is home to the social elite and anything inferior is not welcome at all. Anybody who is somebody will have a property here, regardless of race or nationality. Many nobles will own a property here for when they visit Aevon on official business. It is surrounded by well-kept gardens and woodlands used for leisure.❀ ❀ ❀
Rohaya (2) is the vast expanse of land surrounding Haru dedicated to agriculture and pasture. There is very little for miles around other than busy roads and the occasional roadside pit stop. Small clusters of villages every now and then are the only thing that break up the uniform landscape.❀ ❀ ❀
The empire's most adept and renowned military barracks is that of Hanamisu (3). Located near the Tuya border, it provides exceptional training to the youth and even allows them to specialise in their combat style- ranger, soldier, etc.
❀ ❀ ❀
Runim (4) is a glimpse at the past culture that filled Hanami before the union. The traditional elven city has been pushed aside and now has lost almost all presence in Hanami. The Ruric people have a completely different view and seeing how the unification has only resulted in land being seized from them, they are reluctant to accept it.

mariners and merchants. Sumi is made up of more than a hundred islands located to the west of Hanami. It is home to the largest trading ports in the empire. Much like Aevon, it boasts an environment of great diversity. However instead of forming a new cultural identity, Sumi finds unity in diversity and each island holds onto their own cultural identity. It makes it a popular tourist and holiday destination, every island with its own charm and way of life.
Sumi's strength is in their marine fleets and showed the full extent of its strength when they helped the humans conquer Hanami. They unofficially rule the seas and many trade routes, meaning there are no realms who want to displease them. However their disproportionate influence within the empire also makes them a feared realm and there are many who jump at the opportunity to bring them down a level.❀ ❀ ❀
Sumi's capital is Ryo (5), home to the largest port in Hanami. There is nothing you could want for here- from the spices of Chanda to the works of Tuyan intellects to the enchanted weapons of Nirn- you will find it in Ryo. There is always work going here, making it a popular destination for travellers. It is a city with it's own charm, every house and building having its own distinct style- giving the city its nickname of The Patchwork City.
❀ ❀ ❀
Hanyu (6) was the ancient capital of Sumi and is the only city that extends underwater where the merfolk dwell. It still seats the Sumi Council, where representatives of every island gather biannually. It is an ancient city with a lot of history, and one whom many still regard as the capital city of Sumi before the emperor Kal unseated the merfolk as the ruling family and moved the capital to Ryo. ❀ ❀ ❀

the warmth of the north.
Nirun makes up the northernmost region of Hanami. It is subject to hazardous weather conditions and even Satyrs struggle to work the land. However, with the imports of Hanami, its population has steadily increased over the past 50 years. It makes it's fortune from mine and its weaponry and armoury industries, that supplies most of the armies throughout Hanami now.
Despite being such a cold and unwelcoming land, the cities of Nirun are quite the opposite and even the biggest cities in Nirun are often described as 'cosy'. Their hospitality and friendliness is something the citizens are very proud of. The gap between the richest and the poorest is the smallest within Hanami and it is very frequent that the different classes will mix and interact. ❀ ❀ ❀
The ruling family of Nirun reside in its capital, Falkas (7). Originally a fishing town before recent expansions, Falkas still holds onto the friendly town feel and with even the busiest streets lined with traditional chalet-esque buildings, it's easy to forget that you are in the biggest city in Nirun. The city is one of the empire's safest and is built on the trust between resident. .❀ ❀ ❀
Huin (8) is another popular destination within Nirun and is the last prospering dwarven realm. It is made of great halls carved into the mountains. Many searching for the finest weapons and armour will travel here to sample the work of the greatest of dwarven smiths. The great hall, market and commercial areas are all open to the public and to visitors, but behind it lies the dwarven residences which is blocked off to tourists (well, anyone who is not a dwarf).❀ ❀ ❀
The northernmost point of Nirun is Tyr (9), the home of the Rangers of the North. It is here that Nirun bases it's most skilled fighters dedicating to protecting their home from the wilderness beyond their borders. They patrol the stone wall which keeps out savages, great beasts and dark magic
❀ ❀ ❀
Olan (10) is a famous location, made popular through its traditional hot springs. As well as many visitors, it is frequently used by the locals as a place to relax and socialise. It is here that you can also learn a lot more about traditional practices of Nirun, such as braiding, war paint and traditonal clothing.

roam the great plains.
Ulme is the biggest of the realms in Hanami and yet has the lowest population. It is often viewed as quite a 'backwards' realm, many of the people there still enjoying a nomadic lifestyle, especially the vast herds of centaurs that still roam the land. The lifestyle is quite a simplistic one in Ulme and the cities are much more simple than the grand cities of Aevon.
However, Ulme is a very innovative realm and is home to many schools of natural sciences and magic. They are a liberal realm and value freedom above all else. ❀ ❀ ❀
Irme (11) is the largest city of Ulme but surprisingly, not the capital. It is hidden in the valley at the foot of an extinct volcano. It is a heavily fortified realm built into the mountain. During Empress Kagiso's conquest of Hanami, it was used to shelter many of the tribes and nomads who had no defences against the invading armies. Now, it is also home to the most prestigious of the schools of natural magic and science.❀ ❀ ❀
Hwalla (12) is the empire's only moving capital. During the summer months when the weather is favorable, the people move to the mountainside and work the land on the fertile soils. They move back to the base of the mountain during the winter months to shelter from the harsh conditions. There are an overwhelming percentage of centaurs, satyrs and harpies who live here. Many only know the city as the empire's best producer of wines and alcohol but there is much more than just that.❀ ❀ ❀
A relatively new city but one of the richest in Ulme is Anhu (13), it is governed by a religious organisation, dedicated to helping the nomads of Ulme and providing refuge to those who need it. Many are suspicious of the organisation, being the first of its kind to slander the deities of Hanami and suggest a new one in its place but with their selfless mission, it's hard for the people to accuse them of anything other than thinking differently. And infringing on freedoms is not something that would happen in Ulme.

where there is knowledge, there is power.
Tuya is a very well-liked realm in Hanami. And indeed, it is the home to some of the greatest minds and speakers in the empire, of whom they are most proud of Empress Kagiso. With great diplomacy and political tact, they have established strong ties to many other realms. They trade in more than just materials and products but send teachers and lecturers abroad to teach and engineers to help construct cities. They are known to have the best justice and education systems within the empire.
However as well as citizens are treated, it is another matter entirely for outsiders. Since the foundation of Hanami, people from the deserts beyond Hanami have tried to flee into the realm. To deal with it, Tuya put in place a heavily regulated slave industry- providing work and lodging for outsiders without granting them citizen status.
❀ ❀ ❀
Tissam (14) is the capital of Tuya and a very well-kept city at that. The supreme court, Kagiya can be found here, which not only deals with cases within Kagiso but inter-realm disputes. It also has many schools of philosophy and engineering, producing a highly valued and skilled population. ❀ ❀ ❀
Outlands (8) Towards the southern border is a sparsely populated wastelands. Tuyari rangers patrol the area for any escapees from the southern deserts beyond Hanami who try and enter the realm. Although slaves should lawfully be dealt through Tuyari authorities, there are many illegal organisations who have hidden bases here and smuggle slaves out of Tuya.
❀ ❀ ❀
Naba (14) is the home to one of the most beautiful cities of the empire. It was built by the elves and is one of the empire's most ancient cities. A city made almost entirely of white stone, it is said to glisten brilliantly in the sun. It also has some of the nations most beautiful gardens which are located all over the city, creating the perfect getaway for many.
❀ ❀ ❀
Kana (15), is the centre of slaving in Tuya and the only licensed slave market in Hanami is located here. Although slaving is allowed in Tuya, it is very heavily regulated and although slaves have no rights as citizens, they are required to be given minimum standards of living and can only be bought and sold by certified slavers. The Tuyari rangers who control illegal slaving are based here as well.

nature is wild.
Chanda is shrouded in thick rainforest for miles and miles and has been protected as a nature reserve for years. It is brimming with life, scents and colours. And much like their home, the people of Chanda are known to wear their true colours and never shy from who they are. Chanda is especially known for their performing arts and their festivals have become something of a spectacle for much of Hanami.
❀ ❀ ❀
Samil (15) is a marvel to behold. It is a city created high in the treetops at the heart of the rainforest. Originally a harpy settlement, it has since been adapted with staircases spiralling around the trees and bridges and pathways formed to give access to those who cannot fly up (well, for most people). It is a well-known centre for fashion and exports countless gowns, outfits and the like.
